growing in christ

"At our core, we are committed to love. We are called to live holy lives. We are expected to engage a needy world. We are empowered to serve without needless restrictions. All of our structures encourage these priorities. We believe the Great Commission requires the transformation of individuals and societies by God’s power and love and for His glory.

The result is wholeness — whole people bringing the whole gospel of freedom to the whole world. In the church, this wholeness is displayed through healthy biblical communities of holy people — disciples, leaders, groups and churches that steadily multiply. Throughout the world, God displays this wholeness as He restores what is broken back to excellence through His holy, transformed people." Bishop Matthew Thomas

At Mac Free, we believe growth happens when the church and the family work together in unity. We encourage inter-generational ministry by asking our adults to volunteer in children and youth ministries, fostering relationships as mentors. Not only can the youth glean from the wisdom of those who are older, but the older generation can also glean much from the youth.

The Free Methodist Church has a rich history of small group ministry. We also believe in the power and life transformation that takes place in small group relationships. In the fall of 2018, we will be kicking-off our small group ministry. We are excited to share more as the kick-off gets closer. We are excited to see what God will do. "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another" (Proverbs 27:17).

Serving others is at the core of who we are as Jesus followers. Jesus came not to be served, but to serve. As we strive to be like Christ, we find that it is a blessing to serve. At Mac Free you will have opportunities to serve others. Click on over to the "Serve" section of the web page to find ways you can serve within our discipleship program. "Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me." (John 12:26).

A crucial part of following Jesus is to listen and obey. We encourage people to listen to the Holy Spirit and to follow where He leads. By listening and following Jesus together, we will be able to love God and love others fully.

We look forward to walking this journey with you. To find out what it looks like to grow at Mac Free, follow links under the "Grow" heading.
