The Mission of AWANA is to help churches and parents raise children who know, love, and serve God. The name is derived from 2 Timothy 2:15 and stands for Approved Workmen are Not Ashamed. Children participate in interactive teaching times, small groups, and games each week and are provided with a handbook to work on at home with their family. We strive to teach children to memorize Scripture while learning the Biblical truths that make those Scriptures so important! Our leaders are dedicated to partnering with parents to teach children to serve Jesus and follow Him with their whole heart. We meet each Wednesday from 6:30-7:45 and have programs available for children age two through 5th grade.
Children are divided into AWANA groups based on age and year in school. Each club helps children connect with God with age-appropriate learning activities and lessons that will help your child not only learn more about God's character, but help them as they make a decision to follow Him in their life.
Puggles is for 2-year-old children (3 years before Kindergarten) and welcomes children each week with play time, songs, and simple crafts and activities that reinforce four basic Biblical precepts:
Special take home cards correspond to each week's lesson and help parents nurture their child's faith at home.
- God Made Everything
- God saw that it was good
- God is Love
- Give Thanks
Cubbies celebrates the spiritual potential of preschoolers during the two years prior to entering Kindergarten. Preschoolers can hardly wait for their next club meeting where they learn about God--the greatness of His love and His word--and about His Son, Jesus Christ, the promised Savior.
Children receive a handbook to work on at home written in storybook format that parents can read with their child each week. Cubbies builds respect and trust in God during the formative preschool years.
Sparks ignites the curiosity of early elementary-age children in Kindergarten through second grade. At club each week, children participate in exciting games and worship and meet with a small group leader committed to knowing them. In sparks, children explore the biographies of people of the Bible as they memorize Scripture.
The handbooks, combined with large group lesson time take your child on a journey through the entire Bible.
T&T engages third- fifth graders by helping them answer their questions about God and the Bible, guiding them through this pivotal life stage to grow in God's grace.
Handbooks and large-group lessons deepen a child's knowledge of God and His Word and teach how to put that knowledge into action in everyday life.
