Find Your Fit

We believe that God has brought each and every one of us into community with one another and has equipped us for a specific function within that community. It is our desire to see everyone discover where they fit and enable them to live it out! Here is a list of some teams to get involved with and find your fit here at the McPherson Free Methodist Church

HOSPITALITY TEAM (Pastor Dallas)

The Hospitality Team’s goal is to do everything possible to create an inviting and welcoming atmosphere that engages people right where they are and points them to Jesus. This includes welcoming people as they walk in the door, helping new families navigate around the church, answering questions, making coffee, or anything else we can think of to create an atmosphere for thriving community. Listed below are the different areas in the Hospitality Team. Please contact the person in charge of the area to get involved!

  • USHERS: Ushers serve in many ways around the McPherson Free Methodist and play a big role in keeping things moving. This team helps people find what they are looking for, receives the offering, helps with seating, and much more! (Head Usher: Bill Snyder)
  • GREETERS: Everyone likes being welcome! Our Greeters are here specifically to make everyone arriving to MACFMC feel this way. From hand shakes to bear hugs, from short hellos to conversations, our Greeters make sure that everyone is part of the family! (Head Greeter: Karen Holman)
  • NEWCOMERS LUNCHEON: Who doesn’t like a good party? We love inviting our new families for a simple get-to-know –you luncheon once a quarter! The purpose to help them identify who’s who at the church and as well start building some of the all important community! The team is responsible for setting up for the luncheon, working with the office manager on the invitations, cooking, and creating a welcoming environment for our new friends. (Volunteer to head this–the position is open!)

TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT (Pastor Dallas)

For the visual projection components of sanctuary worship, media operators run computer programs for videos, song lyrics, announcements, sermon notes, and other visual elements.  In March 2011 we installed new digital sound system, including a Roland M-400 Mixing Console.  Anyone with a gift for these technologies is invited to contact the Worship Arts Director to be included in the volunteer support staff.

STUDENT MINISTRIES (Pastor Zach)

Our junior high and high school ministries are exciting places to be involved! From weekly meetings on Wednesday and Sunday nights, to monthly events and camps, new leaders are always welcome. Not only do we get to be crazy and have fun, but we have the opportunity to impact these students at a crucial time in their lives! For more information contact Pastor Zach Fleming.

CHILDREN’S MINISTRIES (Jan O’Dell)

Jesus made it clear that kids were not to be overlooked when the adults came to hear Him. Psalm 145:4 says, “One generation shall praise Your works to another, and shall declare Your mighty acts.” We have been given the privilege and responsibility of leading the next generation in faith! Children’s Ministries is a growing and active place with lots of opportunities to be involved. If it is on Sunday morning, Wednesday evening, or during the variety of monthly events we are always looking for help!  For more contact Jan O’Dell, Children’s Ministries Director.
