Serving Jesus Together, Following Jesus Wherever

Mac Free is a community of believers that seeks to submit to Jesus' leadership and live out lives of fruitful service.  We are so excited to participate in the story God is writing through us in individual lives and our community.  We are a church where God is changing lives, re-ordering priorities, and where we are learning together how to live in the freedom of who God created us to be.  We are not a perfect church, but we are working to be an obedient church.

  • Serving

It is important that we know that the action of placing faith in Christ is one that includes a cost.  Jesus said, "Whoever wants to be my disciple, must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.  For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it." (Mark 8:34-35)

All of us are servants.  We have different roles, but we are all servants.  Christians are people who have committed to a higher call than their own desires and dreams.  Since we belong to Christ, it is our joy and honor to serve Him with our lives.

When we serve together, we have the ability to exponentially multiply our influence for Christ in this world and we are committed to that end.

  • Following

As followers, we need to know the one we are following.  Knowing and trusting Christ is central.  "And God placed all things under his [Jesus] feet and appointed him to the head over everything for the church.  which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills everything in every way."  We are to be about the master's work and about the Master Himself.

As a church body we are committed to following Jesus...wherever!  We are learning to seek His guidance and listen well.  When we rightly prioritize our lives about following Jesus and serving Him, God is free to wow us with opportunities to make disciples and teach others to follow and serve Christ.

  • Unity

Unity is a collective focus on what matters most.  it is not that we all think alike or agree on everything.  It comes from collective commitment to the will of God.  "I [Jesus] have given them the glory that you [God] gave me, that they may be one as we are one---I in them and you in me---so that they be brought to complete unity.  Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me." John 17:22-23

We must remember that unity matters!  Forgiveness and grace must be given. Pettiness and pride must be released!  Unity happens when we learn about and get engaged in each other's story.  We are purposely involved in each other's lives and as a community we are becoming a people united in direction and focus.
